Two Girls, a Clock, and a Crooked House, by Michael Poore, tells the story of two girls, a clock, and a crooked house.  Literally.  Plus, there are some grocery store thefts and big smelly machines.  The best thing about this book is probably the story line.  The plot is twisty, bumpy, and full of curves.  The worst thing about this book is its smell.  I don’t like the new book smell!  Time to go back down to the ground floor with all the good things about this book.  Here are some other good things:  The book is also funny, mysterious, and interesting.  I find these things key to making it a good book.  Well, now I’m going to make dinner with words – there is a hunk of funny dialogue, a hint of mystery, and a cup of interesting.  When I finished reading this book, it turned out to be a very splendid dinner indeed.  I recommend this book as a yes.  If you are okay with the new book smell, then by all means, go buy yourself a copy!

Oh Say, I Can’t See, by Jon Scieszka, is a book about two boys and one girl that somehow find a way to travel back in time. This book is ok.  It has a little bit of adult humor.  I think this book is funny and cute, and I really like the way that it teaches you a little bit of history.
